About

Hi there! My name is Merel and I’m interested in everything that has to do with darts in Asia. I started out tweeting about everything darts at the end of 2018. Because I wanted to watch as many matches possible, I found my way to the Japanese Soft tip tours and noticed that not many people were watching them. Hence I decided to change my username to AsianDarts and make a website where I try to give as many interesting information possible.

I think with AsianDarts I’ve grown to be the person in this community who knows more about darts in Asia than any other person around.

My goal is to shine a light on the amazing players from Asia and give them a stage to tell their story.

In the past I’ve written for magazines and websites like Dartfreakz and sometimes I still work together with other sites or fellow journalists. In the past, I’ve also provided information for television broadcasts and staticians. A chapter about me was written in a book about darts in South Korea (Kwanghee Cho’s story) because I was able to help him in becoming World Champion Paradarts. These are of course amazing highlights and all these experiences make that I’m now fully independent with ‘AsianDarts’, owning my own equipment and getting accreditated as press for most tournaments. I’m now able to share the stories of many unknown or not so unknown players from Asia.

This website will mostly be for interviews and videos, X/Twitter is the place for short information like tournament results, upcoming events and player information.

To keep up to date, be sure to follow my X/Twitter page: @asiandarts
